Only one automotive designer has ever been able to imagine a car that perfectly pleases the everyman. That designer was Homer Simpson. Today, that dream has been made into reality.
Check out the real-life version of the car designed by Homer Simpson
The Homer, the car that the Simpson patriarch built for the common man and subsequently bankrupted his half-brother, has been painstakingly ushered into reality. Complete with "La Cucaracha" horn and soundproof bubble for the kids, the pea-green monstrosity comes straight from a classic episode of "The Simpsons" and was custom designed by Team Porcubimmer for the 24 Hours of LeMons race in California. The race required that entrants spend less than $500 to buy and modify their vehicles — a far cry from the original Homer car's ticket price of $82,000. But if the car survives the race, we wouldn't be surprised if a wealthy Simpsons fanatic paid that much for it. (end of article)
Now, while “the Homer” won’t be available for any time in the foreseeable future, we do offer a few similarly well-planned family vehicles. Pop in to any of our Norfolk or Virginia Beach car dealerships to find your perfect man-mobile today.
