Checkered Flag, believes that staying on top of the latest and most up-to-date vehicle knowledge is key to our sales specialists helping customers. A fun way we make sure everyone is on their game is by holding an annual Vehicle Walk-Around Contest. This month, salespersons from each of the nine Checkered Flag locations compete for the title of Walk-Around Champion, a coveted accolade not just for the title, but also for the terrific prizes!
Contestants are judged on many factors including physical presentation of the vehicle, knowledge of vehicle features and options including all safety features, and even vehicle warranty and availability. Participants also score points for being helpful, friendly, and energetic during their presentations. Every sales specialist for all eleven Checkered Flag brands must participate in the yearly contest, so everyone is given an equal chance to win.
The 2010 judge panel consisted of V.P. of Variable Operations, Pete Lively, Director of eMarketing, Christine Knowles, and Checkered Flag Jaguar Brand Specialist (and previous walk-around competition winner) Phyllis Hunter.
The 2010 Walk-Around Championships were as follows:
6th place- Bo Wang from Checkered Flag Honda
5th place- Chris Sherrod from Drivers World
4th place- Thom Coyle from Checkered Flag Hyundai Volkswagen
3rd place- Jimmy Anderson from Checkered Flag BMW
2nd place- Mark Broughton from Checkered Flag Jaguar Porsche Audi - who incredibly has only sold cars for 5 months!
1st place- and 2010 Checkered Flag Walk-Around Champion- Lawrence Doligosa from Checkered Flag Toyota
While all the contestants did a phenomenal job, Lawrence combined the sales process, knowledge of the vehicle, and a lighthearted and fun attitude to take top honors. Mr. Doligosa won the top prize for the contest; an all-inclusive trip for two to the Dominican Republic! Congratulations Lawrence!
All other placing contestants won terrific cash prizes. Salespersons are already preparing for next year's competition. Great job, to all the salespersons who participated in the Checkered Flag Vehicle Walk-Around Contest! Our Checkered Flag customers truly have winners on their side.
