I spend at least 16 miles on 264 every week day, driving from my house near the Hilltop area to my office at Checkered Flag. My time on I264 is about 8 miles each way, but I also spend some time on it visiting the various Checkered Flag locations during the workday. Anyway, I spend some time on it.
A few months ago the Virginia Beach side got some patchwork on a few of the potholes that have developed. I am not exactly sure what was used to patch those holes, but it seemed like some sticky, loose rock. At the time, I was upset about all the road debris getting shot into my windshield and front bumper but it only lasted a few days. After that I was quite impressed with how smooth the drive down 264 had become. I was jealous of the Norfolk side's new pavement (between Newtown and the 64 overpass), but Virginia Beach had finally done something that was okay to drive on - not pretty, but okay to drive on.
Fast forward a few months to today...what happened to all that patchwork? Almost every shred of it is gone! It has been replaced by even bigger potholes than we had before and one serious rough ride.
I know we are short on money for road work, but wow! Can we get some help with the Virginia Beach side of I-264? It is not a very long road.
Any thoughts out there?

I agree with you 100%; the interstates in this area are absolutely horrible. Their 'quick' fixes last a couple of months, then it is just as bad if not worse than it was before. Ultimately in the longrun it would be more cost effective and beneficial to just fully repave the road smooth!
